Looking for links to supplement tomorrow’s blog entry, I did a quick search of “bad book covers” and happened across Cooking With Pooh.
Um, gee, no thanks. I’m not really hungry.
Okay, I did the same search and came up with this..but how is this a bad book cover?
What’s wrong with Pooh?
If you don’t dig Pooh Bear, because you’re too “mature” that’s fine…but the question is, would this upset a five year old? I wouldn’t think so. Is there something I’m missing here? There’s no hidden perverted message….the chocolate cookies look like exactly that…he’s wearing a purple apron…is that the problem or something? He sure looks like Winnie the Pooh to me. I don’t get people. Sorry for my rant. But I just….Pooh like was a huge part of my childhood I can’t let him be insulted like this.
I love Winnie the Pooh, particularly the great original books by A. Al Milne. Genius.
However, the combination of the title and the artwork sort of butts against my adolescent funny bone and I think, yuck.
I know. I’m immature.
Thanks for reading the blog.
