There’s a guy on the world wide web who specializes in imitating batting stances of famous and not-so-famous baseball players from every team in the MLB.
Why doesn’t this information surprise you?
Here’s one such clip featuring New York Mets, past and present, as recreated by the one, the only, “Batting Stance Guy.” I’d bet a LOT of boys did this in their youth — I sure did — standing there with a whiffle ball bat in hand, pretending to be Carl Yastrzemski. I also love the friendship that’s evidenced in this video, the two guys off camera who are filming their hilarious buddy, giggling softly at the friend who always finds a way to make them laugh. Good times, good times.
I enjoyed that, thanks. My favorite was Jose Reyes, he had is feet down cold. I never find the good stuff on youtube, so I simply wait for everyone else to find it and put it on their blog
I think it’s hilarious that there appear to be only current Mets and mid-80s Mets. I kind of feel the same way!
Well, he could have done Jon “The Hammer” Milner, I remember he had a distinctive (if unproductive) style. And I would have loved to have my old hero, Cleon Jones, from back in the day.
BTW: How did Milner ever get away with stealing Hank Aaron’s nickname. I want to say they weren’t in the same league, but, well, obviously they were.
