The First 450 Kids Will Receive a FREE $15 Book Voucher at This Saturday’s Marlboro Book Festival!

I think the flyer tells you all you need to know.

This is the debut year for the Marlboro festival. I really have to hand it to the brave, selfless souls who took on the enormous task of creating children’s book festival from scratch. The level of detail is endless. The work is exhausting. Even the headaches have headaches.

I’ll be there along with 60 other authors and illustrators.

Come support reading, support children’s book creators, but perhaps most importantly, support the people in your community who have worked so hard simply to enrich the lives in your neighborhoods, your schools, your town. Don’t let their efforts go without you taking a minute, or an hour, to show your appreciation.

Please stop by my table and say hello! And if you are a teacher or a PTA member interested in school visits, I’d love to chat with you!

Upcoming Book Festivals, Near & Not So Far!

–

It’s July. I know, I know. But blink and, alas, school days come ’round again. Then Autumn comes and with it, book festivals!

Because this is the time of year when we try — oh, we try — to encourage & foster a love of reading. A love for books, and writing, and critical thinking. And one great way to do that is by attending a children’s book festival. Meeting authors. Buying books. Getting signatures. Experiencing a fun, unique, literacy-centered activity with your children, your neighbor’s children, your grandchildren, any old children you can beg, borrow, or steal.

Make America Read Again!

I’ll be there for all of these events, plus a special (and rare) book signing at the Open Door Bookstore in Schenectady, NY.

If only there was somewhere people could go to get quick, easy information right at their fingertips. A search engine that could instantly . . .

I am always deeply grateful to be invited to these events. It does my soul good to see young readers, and beautiful families, sharing a love for books.
