Stand By Me . . . Around the World

I don’t know how I found this remarkable video, which in its way is reminiscent of the viral Where’s Matt? clip, but I’m glad I did. It’s five minutes — and who’s got five minutes? — but play it anyway while you do other things. Way cool and sweetly uplifting.

I love how the director takes his time on this one, working with restraint, trusting the material, before riding that song around the world and back.

Thanks, Bill, I really appreciate the comment. I really enjoy music and great clips, and/or humor and youtube in general. But I hesitated before posting this, thinking that some readers might think, “What’s this doing here?”

In the end, in my bloggy blogness, I’ve decided to Please Myself! And that’s where I come down as a writer, too; it’s the ultimate tiebreaker. Would I like it? Because once you start trying to please other people, and guessing what they might maybe sort of like, you are on the way to pandering to an imaginary audience. And goodness, don’t we see SO MANY children’s books that do exactly that?
